Animation Station

The fine people at Cartoon Brew gather animations from around the world, from all ages and through time it's self. I have shared my favorite animations below, most of which are student films.

Blenderstein! Is a very hip, inventive animation. I love the style and coloring.

Crime Stoppers

A very cool and well done animated short about a imaginative detective.

Slim Pickings

This is a nice ode to the animations by Tex Avery.

Death Buy Lemonade

You don't mess around with a little girl and her lemonade stand.

What if

Here is a great short animation playing off of the idea if the moon landing was fake.

Hanna Barbera

Adding to the DIY theme (See Terry Gilliam below) here is a fun, vintage article from Popular Mechanics, from 1960. It discusses the Hanna Barbera way of animation and is a great view into the company.

Terry Gilliam's Do It Yourself

The first exposure I had to Terry Gilliam's work was in High School with "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". I loved every minute of animation from Terry Gilliam. Now you can learn how to do it your way.

Barbaric Fiction

Here is an interesting trailer for a documentary about the internal battle of the He-Man creators. I didn't realize all the controversy over my favorite toy from my childhood.
